Have you ever experienced anything like the pictures above? Your face goes from a nice bronzed look to something more resembling Casper the friendly ghost or like you have perhaps had a bit to much of the naughty naughty cocaine in the bathroom at the latest party?

Pink, Yellow, Olive, Green, Blue? Which Undertone am I?

There is always a lot of controversy on which undertone people are and lots of old-wives tales of how to find out your undertone. I did a post the other day on MAC undertones (which you can find here http://mattsmakeupmad.blogspot.co.nz/2014/08/why-are-undertones-in-mac-foundations.html) and explaining them but that isn't really helpful unless you know your own undertone.

Mecca Must Haves!

Now we in New Zealand don't have the greatest access to a lot of brands that our fellow makeup lovers over in the UK and US do. We don't have stores like Sephora, Ulta, Selfridges and all those beautiful lovely places we can only dream about. But the one thing we do have is Mecca Cosmetica!

Why are the undertones in MAC foundations reversed?

A very very common question I get and have seen floating around the internet is "Why in MAC is NC yellow toned when C means cool and NW is pink toned when W means warm"

Now there is a very nice technical explanation for this that I will now give. Once you get it it actually isn't that complicated and basically boils down to the fact that MAC likes to be different compared to everyone!

I went a little bit more full on with this face than the other day. Added a little bit of extra highlight and bronzed a little bit more. This face is also the perfect example of faking it till you make it.

My Blog Inspirations

Now this post is going to be a cute wee personal post about my inspirations for my blog and why I started blog in the first place!

Now I started this blog because I was always going along with my friends to go foundation shopping to help them quickly find their perfect foundations. Now I had done this a lot and even the counter staff started commenting on how well I guess good I was at helping them choose the type of foundation to try and also the colour. This is what led to my very post on this blog about choosing your HG foundation. I decided that it would be so much better and easier to have all my thoughts in one place and if I ever forgot anything (which I have a tendency to do) I can just easily look here or direct someone to look at my blog.

Face of the Day 7/08/2014

This is a wee little thing I want to do every now and then were a post a picture of my beautiful visage and tell you everything I did to hide all the craziness underneath!!

This face was a quick and easy thing I did for a pretty standard day around the house not really doing much. Usually I wouldn't wear makeup on days like this but I felt like pampering myself! Anyway enough dilly-dally onto the blog!

HELP ME I'M A DISCO BALL!!!!!

I'm sure that we all at one point or another, after spending many hours perfecting our face, making sure everything is on point, has looked in the mirror and been horrified by the shiny and oily mess that closely resembles a human disco ball.
